Farmers Market

Moms helping moms. Kids Eating well.

I think that says it all and sums up our trip to the Farmers Market perfectly. Our moms shared produce so that food would not go to waste, and our Children will benefit from the delicious fresh fruits and vegetables we purchased from Ontario farmers. A few moms carpooled which allowed for less gas and polluting the environment.

Our most popular items included wild blueberries, strawberries, Corn and Peaches. Seems all our kids love peaches - the moms too.
A total bonus that we didn't expect was the samples that were put out. You could see us in clusters hovering in certain locations. Lots of moms and tots with strollers and wagons!

This was not just a perfect food sharing opportunity but it proved to be a great learning experience for the kids as well. Identifying fruits and vegetables, colors and shapes, and of course counting change to pay the farmers. Honestly, straight from the farm is the way to go. I was astonished that I had paid $X for peppers at the grocery store when I could by it for X cents at the farmers market. Truly wonderful.

Oh and did I mention how great it is to experience polite and eager customer service.

Definitely heading back to get some fruits for baking!
