Food is something that I think about all the time, I am obsessed with it. Not just because I am pregnant again but because I try so hard to get my daughter to eat!
I remember when she first started on solids, she ate everything and what I wouldn't do to have her eat like that again!
I read all the articles about how kids eat less when they are toddlers but when can you tell that it is just eating less versus being picky about what is served? It honestly drives me wonky! I gave up on my "Eat or Else" persistence and mentality but it was short lived. I did feel better and less stressed during that few weeks, but it seems that I am back on the "eat this or else train".
Isn't it funny that something like food can drive a mom batty! When I think of how I like to eat, it is several small snacks and meals throughout the day to keep my energy up, so why is it that I insist on my daughter eating 3 meals a day. Smaller portions throughout the day is a good thing...
Does mommy craziness cause you to forget what you've learned? It clearly has for me. Sigh.
One of these days, I think I'll figure it all out!
Here is my beautiful daughter eating :-)
Yes! Can sooo relate! The one thing that makes me relax is to think of it as what did the child ear this week, versus just today...
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point, it can also work to simply not push. I often fix my daughter a plate and then start eating myself. She will come over to check out what I have and start eating her own.
ReplyDeleteI spent so much time with my during my daughters first year stressing about what the little lady was eating (or NOT eating - screamed at every feed) .. but at 4 is 100% average but definitely a grazer!
ReplyDeleteI agree. My little guy just started to become a fussy/picky/whatever you want to call it eater. He eats everything at daycare but when he comes home its a different story. I was told to just let him be, he wont starve himself and he will come around.
ReplyDeleteHere is to hoping!!
