Skating with Kids in GTA

We're Canadians - we're all used to the cold but do we all, ummm, skate?

Start your kids early with ice time and give yourself a chance to rekindle your love of the ice too. Family skating is a simple winter pleasure, great exercise and a perfect way to catch up on fresh air that may be lacking with our indoor activities this season. Watch our momstown Toronto calendar for skating parties this season!

Best Skating Spots in Toronto

WEST END -- Samuel Smith Park's new ice trail is just awesome. Beautiful concept, clean ice, family friendly. It's open from 7am - 10pm, it's FREE to skate, it's artifical ice that looks and feels real (especially given it's trail being) and there's a cozy skate house to change in.

EAST END - Kew Gardens Rink is a nice spot in the middle of the park with a view of the lake. Check the schedule for skating versus shinny times so you don't disappoint a new skater. The park is so lovely that it could easily become a sledding, skating, hot chocolate day all in the same spot!

MID-TOWN - City Hall / Nathan Phillips Square is a well known rink and a fun spot to bring the kids. It's open from first light until 10pm everyday for pleasure skating - ideal to work around a family schedule.

Don't forget to bring a helmet for your kids (good idea for you too, but not required).
