Happy Father's Day Daddy

Yesterday we gathered together for a morning where we celebrated Daddy! Our craft of the day was Rock Family paperweights for daddy's desk!
We took some rocks, paint, goggly eyes, hearts and sparkles; painted then glued them into the base of a pot holder! Easy, and Fun!
Daddy will love it!

It was a huge hit, a bit messy but enjoyed by everyone! Here is a quick look at a the combined work of mommy and tot!

After completing our craft time, we joined in a circle and sang some of the kids favorite songs, and read a story about Daddy called, "Daddy, I Love you! as well as a story about Pete the Cat and his White Shoes!

And of course no party is complete without some free time for the kids to run around!
Thank you to all the moms and tots who made it out for all the fun.

Tales for Tots: Reading and Crafts

We just added a Children's book club to our calendar, meeting every month. What a great way for your toddler to learn a love for books.

We will met at the library till the nice weather comes then we'll bring it outdoors. Each month a new book will be chosen and the playgroup the next day will include a craft that is based around that book, bring it all together!

This week in our playgroup we read the Story "The Carrot Seed", by Ruth Krauss - the storybook we named in our monthly newsletter and followed that up with a craft.

The kids had a ton of fun getting dirty filing up their biodegradeable planter with soil, then planting the seeds for their herb. We weren't without a chance to do some art as well, with the kids coloring the pictures of the Carrots!

Here are a few pictures from the playgroup. You can see all the pictures from the playgroup in our momstown moments slideshow in the right hand column of our blog.

Penguins and Chipmunk's

What a Fantastic craft playgroup today! The kids had a blast with Circle time...our moms were as tired the tots were! The kids gelled well and patiently completed their crafts, and why not - when you have Glue and paint, and lots of people cheering them on!!

Grenadier Retirement Lodge hosted our Playgroup today and the seniors LOVED being with the kids. They sang with us, cheered and clapped while the kids had a ton of Fun. It was great to see our tiny tots interacting with the seniors.

Circle time included - Ring around the Rosie - we had to round them up for a photo moment!!
